Ken Stratford
Ken Stratford's experience includes a number of years in senior management with two billion-dollar corporations. During his career he has lived and worked in Canada, the US and the UK, and for the Government of Japan. He has a number of years as a specialist in the field of economic development.
Stratford's writings draw upon his great range of experience and his recognized curiosity and creativity. He describes his writing style as "coherent and fluid," making the most technical of subjects comprehensible to a lay reader without losing the interest of the specialist.
He has developed what he calls FutureThink in which he projects a product or service five years into the future as a complete and established entity. This enables a client or a workshop to ‘see’ the completed scenario and devise ways to get there if it is viewed as a positive outcome, or develop ways to lessen the impact if the vision is negative. A case in point is his important work in predicting the impact of labor shortages.
He is a recognized business futurist with experience in the social and economic impact of new technologies. He conceived and wrote the plan for Expo 86 on communications and transportation and, in the same year, created and co-chaired Islands 86, the UN-sanctioned conference of 14 Island nations. He delivers an average of 40 speeches annually, primarily on the subject of leadership in economics and the social impact of change.
In addition to years of writing more than 40 successful briefs on grant and partnership agreements, he has authored a number of significant papers, many of which have resulted in national policy and strategy changes.
