Not For Profit Agency Workshops

Almost without exception, every non profit society was established to effect positive change in their community or within a segment of the community, such as meeting the needs of a cohort with special requirements that was previously overlooked or improperly serviced. As such it was reasonable to label the new group as ‘an agent of change’. To survive in a 21st Century environment, it is essential that the agency continues to be seen in that light among its professional peers (other agencies) and by the community at large. To be viewed as leaders in thought and action will always have positive results and the absence of such perceptions will always have a negative effect on the agency. Being viewed and quoted as a forward-thinking organization will attract high quality directors, will profile the agency as a desired or ‘magnet’ company to attract top-notch staff and place the agency ‘top of mind’ when contracts, grants or other funding mechanisms are being considered.

New developments in technology offer the greatest single opportunity for not for profits in the past fifty years. The Internet, e-commerce, database management of client lists, telemarketing, conference calling and digital imaging used wisely can transform an organization from bare survival to one of financial sustainability and leadership in the respective field.

The Encore not For Profit series of workshops focuses on new models of economic sustainability for organizations lessening their dependence on government grants as well as building increased efficiency in the relationship between directors and professional staff.
